Chef John DeLucie is one of the culinary world's true originals and the founding chef of Waverly Inn, co-owned by Graydon Carter of Vanity Fair. There, and at Crown on the UES, high-wattage names like Jay-Z & Beyonce, Karl Lagerfeld, Blake Lively, and Mick Jagger have feasted on his truffle mac n' cheese and the trout on a cedar plank.

At his newest venture Bedford & Co., Chef DeLucie delivers his signature haute comfort food with a twist. To start, try the Portuguese Octopus that is wood-grilled to a smokey char and dressed with cucumber, chili, and squid ink vinaigrette.

Next, dry-aged meats sourced from local farms make for simply spectacular entrees, like the Prime Hanger Steak (market greens, béarnaise sauce, fries). Or, go for a housemade fresh pasta such as the "Spiro's" Spaghetti amped up with succulent merguez, tomato, ricotta salata, and pistachio.

The Meg Sharpe-designed interior with spacious half-moon banquettes, warm marble and antique mirrors speaks to the modern and organic aesthetic.

Afterwards, linger at the lobby of The Renwick Hotel, decorated with whimsical nods to F. Scott Fitzgerald, John Steinbeck et al who all came for inspiration and company; and as a bonus, you may glimpse some contemporary famous faces who gather here today...
