Funds raised through this event will support efforts to build a team and launch new exhibitions, so eat, drink, and delight while you make a difference...
AAP(I belong) was founded in 2021 by Vilma Kari and her daughter Elizabeth. Following Vilma’s brutal attack in Times Square last year, the video of her attack became virally known as the doorman video. The outpour of not only love and support, but of strangers’ personal stories of encounters with hate, inspired the creation of the AAP(I belong) platform.
Their first fundraiser aims to shed greater awareness on Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) discrimination and cultural challenges through education by providing a safe platform for the AAPI community to share their anonymous stories of encounters with anti-Asian hate.
Their goal is to showcase the collected stories in popup exhibitions around the country with the intention of sparking self-reflection, community conversations, and general AAPI education to the public, and they've been featured on Good Morning America, Nightline, Elle.com, CNN, Time Magazine, and the White House United We Stand summit.
The fundraiser will serve up endless pours of Chandon Brut Champagne, Lio Sangria, Stella Artois, Nectar Hard Seltzer, and Sanzo Sparkling Water alongside Asian-inspired fare - Winter Citrus Soba Salads, “Chili Crisp” Crostinis, Miso Roasted Eggplant + Oyster Mushrooms, Shrimp Skewers, and then some.
The incredible 41st floor views and luxe silent auction items will steal the show. So snap some pics, and go after hot ticket prizes like a Prada leather pouch, personal financial planning consultation, Dream Tea custom blends, M.M. LaFleur clothing gift card + styling session, Cle Cosmetics Renewal Ritual Set - the list goes on and on!
So soar into the sky, raise a glass, and give back in a delicious way...
