Take a seat outside and adore the charm of the Upper West scene, with every bite sparking your intrigue for more...
There's no doubt that Baazi on the Upper West Side is a "gem," as described by Zagat - boasting applause from Eater, Time Out, and The Infatuation, "Baazi brings authentic Northern Indian cuisine to Manhattan," according to the critics at Thrillist.
When Chef/Owner Gaurav Anand first visited the Awadh region, the historical legacy & vibrancy of its cuisine changed the course of his life. He learned “dum pukht,” the artful, 200 year old technique that involves cooking in a sealed, heavy bottomed pot or “handi” over a very low flame, which allows meats to cook in their own juices.
The attention to detail and use of a handful of uncommon spices is what earned Baazi its reputation. A spread includes elaborately prepared platings unique to the region, presenting a culmination of finesse representing India’s sacred fare.
From the Roast Trout Rechado (local rainbow trout, rechaedo, charred lemon) and the rich Chicken Sirka Pyaz (tandoori chicken thighs, tomato gravy, pickled baby onions), to Prawn Kuzhambu (shrimp curry) and everything in between, each creation is as delicious as it is beautifully fragrant.
With a bottle of vino and a dessert to add to this epic feast, unearth an experience that will leave a lasting impression...
