Founded by seasoned restaurateurs Mario & Sergio Riva and AJ Bontempo (who hail from UWS favorite Osteria Cotta), Carroll Place is a Greenwich Village gem offering impeccable Italian cuisine and a standout cocktail list focusing on local craft spirits.
Downstairs, the vibe is trendy with rustic wooden communal tables and a lively clientele. For a more intimate time, head to the boudoir-chic lounge upstairs and order the Bontempo, a sultry concoction of gin, wild strawberry liqueur, cava rosé, and a flaming lemon peel garnish. The Short Rib Sliders and the hefty Meatballs in Pomodoro are perfect for sharing.
In the entree section, go for the tender NY Strip Steak served with truffle fries and barolo sauce. The Roasted Branzino is another showstopper: freshly caught Branzino served with herb roasted potatoes and a fennel salad.
