Chef Julian Medina has spent the past two decades creating Latin dishes for some of New York City's top restaurants, and has perfect his craft as Owner/Executive Chef of his Toloache empire, which now consists of three Manhattan locations.
The Toloache restaurants are named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions, and we promise that you will fall under the spell of Chef Medina's creative cooking, which incorporates seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies.
Start your meal with one of the three house guacamoles, including a surprising signature interpretation that combines mango, pomegranate and basil. Then, we recommend splitting the New York Times recommended atún ceviche.
A host of elegant and creative entree selections include the Bacalao Trufado (Miso-tequila glazed black cod, corn, hon shimeji, mushrooms, chipotle-black truffle butter), the Carne Asada (Grilled skirt steak, potato gratin, guacamole, mole-cheese enchilada) and a host of other options.
