After nearly two decades of experience in the restaurant industry, restauranteur Besim Kukaj and Chef Angel Sanchez set out to create a high end, at-home Mexican feeling at Serenata.
Nestled on 17th Street in Chelsea just across the street from the Rubin Museum, the new restaurant offers an inviting and fun atmosphere, with distinct colorful murals on the walls.
Your 5 course feast starts with Guacamole & Salsas, then moves onto an Antojitos course (Appetizers) of your choice, including Taquitos (slow-cooked shredded beef, crispy olives, crema) and Flautas de Pollo (chicken, black bean pasilla sauce, hoja santa aioli).
For your third course, it is onto the Ceviches; the succulent Aguachile de Camaron (poached shrimp, cilantro tapioca, spicy roasted chickpeas). Next, choose from a mouthwatering taco selection, including Pescados (beer-battered sea bass, tartar, citrus coleslaw), Chorizo (2 kinds of chorizo, cured onions), or Vegetariano (grilled cactus, tofu, mushrooms, squash blossom).
Serenata's outstanding cocktails complimenting your meal deserve as much attention as the food itself. Pick 4 from the signature cocktail list: La Serenata (chamomile-infused tequila silver, passion fruit, lime juice, agave, sugar rim) is an exceptional choice, well deserving of its name.
