Details

Created by acclaimed Rome-based pizzaiolo Stefano Callegari, Trapizzino is a New York Times and New York Magazine celebrated revelation that reinvents Old World recipes, and marries Italian cuisine with inventive twists.

Grab your $29 pulse (a $65 value) for a 3 Course Dinner For Two that includes 1 Appetizer, 2 Trapizzini, 1 Dessert, and 2 Glasses of Red Wines, White Wines, & Beers.

"Rome's premier pizza makers are coming to America," hailed Food & Wine Magazine when referring to Callegari's highly-anticipated arrival from The Eternal City to The Big Apple. His work is globally renowned and inspired by a desire to serve traditional recipes in a new way.

Preceded by starters like Suppli - crispy risotto balls - and pork and fennel Salumi, his signature creation - the "Trapizzino" - is pizza dough folded into a hand-held pocket and stuffed with ingredients such as Braised Beef Shank, Butternut Squash, Oxtail Ragu, Burrata, Heritage Pork Shoulder and more - delizioso!

Elevated by glasses of vino and desserts like the delectable Tiramisu soft-serve with Savoiardi biscuits, cold brew, and cocoa powder, a trip to Roma feels just within reach...

Over a decade after introducing Trapizzino to Rome in 2008, Italian Chef Stefano Callegari took a leap (across an ocean, that is) and landed in New York City to much acclaim from Zagat, Eater, and The Infatuation - not to mention 5 Stars on Yelp!

Today, there are multiple locations in Rome, Florence, Milan, and NYC - the only one in the U.S. - nestled on the Lower East Side. Each Trapizzino is the product of patience and love; the creation requires 2 days of prep, with 20 hours to leaven the dough and cook the dish low and slow.

The texture - soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside - is derived from proprietary stone-milled flour from Italy to create a fresh, fluffy, pizza-esque pouch sliced open and stuffed full with succulent fillings.

Sip your wines, bite into Cacio E Pepe Suppli infused with pecorino romano & black pepper, and drool over Polpetta Al Sugo Trapizzini (beef meatball, tomato, celery, carrot, parmigiano reggiano) and Zighiní (beef shoulder, tomato, berbere spice), capped with the famous Olive Oil Cake for dessert.

Straight from the cucina romana to the heart of the Lower East Side, rethink everything you know about pizza & Italian fare thanks to Trapizzino...

All selections will be made from the restaurant's full dinner menu.

Trapizzino dazzles with an outstanding 5 Stars on Yelp from 220+ reviews:

  • "First time here and it definitely will not be the last! The ambiance is really chill. Everything is just really good vibes...and the food is...wow. Easily one of the best things I've ever tasted!"

  • "The risotto balls were outstanding...delicious and executed very well. The trapizzini were out of this world. The bread is the absolute standout for me. It is very light and is like eating a warm sourdough boule out of the oven. It has a wonderful light and airy crunch that leaves you wanting more."

  • "Stumbled upon this gem last night, and we are so impressed. We've never had trapizzinis like this before and we are sold. Had the meatball, eggplant, chicken, and butternut squash, and all of them were delicious. Service was great, as well. 10/10 - will be back soon!"
