Founded by the team behind Crave Fishbar, Eater-applauded TacoVision is on deck, ready to serve you and your warrior crew a procession of artisanal, market-driven tacos and tailored cocktails in a sleek, energetic bi-level space in Midtown East.
As the name implies, all eyes are on the highly focused taco menu here, piled with juicy meat, local produce, and housemade salsas. Tortilleria Nixtamal in Queens provides the ground heirloom masa for making the blue-corn tortillas freshly every day, so expect high impact flavors with every bite.
Such innovation is the work of Kittichai, South Edison, and Crave Fishbar's Chef Todd Mitgang. Try the Chicken Shawarma Taco, a house favorite featuring spice-rubbed chicken thigh from Joyce Farms upstate, jalapeño tahini and Israeli pickles. Vegetarians will love the umami-rich Roasted Cauliflower, elevated by heirloom bean puree, jalapeño salsa, and cilantro.
And lest we forget, the cocktail program is beyond impressive, and just as colorful and distinctive as the food, thanks to consulting beverage director Eben Klemm - a former molecular biologist at MIT with stints at Campbell Apartment and the Knickerbocker Hotel, among others.
