When she moved to New York to start working in the restaurant industry, Thaimee scored a spot in the coveted kitchen of Jean-George Vongerichten’s Spice Market despite having little kitchen experience.
She learned on the job for five years before opening Ngam in the East Village, which successfully ran for 7 years. In 2017, she opened Thaimee Box. She also helmed Thaimee Magic, known for “magic noodles” that turn from blue to purple with the squeeze of a lime. Chef Hong continues to build her brand and in October 2021, opened her modern homestyle dining concept, Thaimee Love.
Applauded by the James Beard Foundation and the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Hong invites you to have afternoon tea at her intimate 30-seat locale, brimming with welcoming warmth and a laidback luxe feel sure to make you feel like an uber-cool denizen.
