A New York Times Critic's Pick applauded for its "subtlety & freshness," Rangoon serves up flavor-packed, authentic Burmese cuisine that is equally celebrated by the likes of Bon Appetit & Time Out, and dubbed a "heartfelt Burmese jewel" by the Michelin Guide.

Grab your $59 pulse (a $127 value) for a 3 Course Dinner For Two that includes 1 Appetizer, 2 Entrees, 1 Dessert, and 2 Cocktails, Glasses of Red, White, Rosé, or Sparkling Wines, or Beers.

Myanmar-native, Owner & Chef Myo Moe's ingredients "demand attention — the rich, marbled pork shoulder she stews with tamarind pulp is one of the nicest pieces of meat I’ve had in a restaurant this year — and her seasonings repay it," says The New York Times. She & her husband Daniel Bendjy have turned this spot into a neighborhood treasure to wow your senses.

"If there is such a thing as a perfect starter, it must be the onion fritters served with tamarind-garlic dip," as said by the Michelin Guide, best followed by Spicy Masala Beef studded with spiced ground beef sautéed with onion, tomato, chili, potato, spicy onion slaw, and mango pickles.

Wrap it up with the delightful Coconut Tapioca layered with fresh coconut shavings, coconut cream, & agar jelly - a palatable dream...

Leave it to Rangoon to "showcase a subtler approach to spice and flavor that's as comforting as a gentle summer breeze," in the words of the Michelin Guide. The spot gets effusive praise, be it from discerning critics at Eater or adoring regulars who can't get enough of Chef Myo Moe's exceptional dishes.

Inspired from traditional Burmese dishes passed on to her through her mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Chef Myo Moe (trained at Mercer Kitchen) prepares comfort food made from the freshest ingredients, traditional flavors, textures from the old capital of Burma, Rangoon. Bringing to you the perfect combination of light & comforting for the ultimate treat.

The space is outfitted by famed Brooklyn architecture firms, Outpost and Saw Earth. Expect a minimalist yet cozy design for the intimate space. The facade is adorned with perforated white metal panels inspired by Victorian wallpaper, while the whitewashed brick walls inside are photographs of Chef Moe’s family.

While you admire the bright, airy atmosphere, sip on a tasty cocktail or some Chinon Rosé from France, while you bite into starters like Spicy Pork Shoulder Slaw with chili-garlic sauce, onion, cucumber, cabbage, lime leaf, coriander, and fresh chili, not to mention the Burmese Fried Chicken with chili-garlic sauce.

Next up, entrees will wow you, namely the Pork In Tea Leaf Curry repping slow cooked pork shoulder with fermented tea leaf, pickled sprouts, spicy onion slaw. The Garlic Noodles are also a delight with thin rice noodle, Napa cabbage, soy-garlic sauce, fried garlic, and scallions.

A dessert will cap off the feast, so tuck in and let your taste buds divine over every single bite & sip...

All selections will be made from the restaurant's full dinner menu.

Rangoon delights NYC gourmands, earning a fabulous 4.1 Stars on Google from 310+ reviews including:

  • "I can’t recommend Rangoon enough. The dishes are fresh, unique, and delicious. The space is clean and beautiful with a great atmosphere. We tried the tea leaf salad, onion fritters, mango and shrimp salad, cold tamarind noodles, spicy mee shay noodles, and prawn curry - all were amazing. We also tried multiple wines, all of which were lovely and paired well with the spices in the dishes. First time eating Burmese and I will definitely be back to try more. Thank you to the staff and the manager, Kyle, for your recommendations and taking such good care of us."

  • "Wow. Such great food! Can’t wait to go back!"

  • "We had the tea leaf salad, tamarind noodles, lemongrass fish noodle soup and coconut tapioca. Everything was so fresh and delicious, we’re kicking ourselves we didn’t come sooner. The staff were so sweet and friendly and the kitchen was quick. 5/5."

  • "Great ambiance, super cute design. Food was great. We ordered the curry, spicy noodles, pork slaw and fried chicken - to die for! Great wine menu, tried a glass of orange from Tuscany. Also the tapioca pudding for dessert! Was wonderful."
