For Chef Polo Dobkin, his wife Stephanie, and their Williamsburg jewel, Meadowsweet, the praise never ends. In addition to Vogue & The New York Times, the restaurant has earned a Michelin star, applauded by the esteemed critics at the Michelin Guide for "well-executed food...loads of charm and friendly service."
Experience this sensational stunner with this incredible $95 pulse (a $165 value) for a 3 Course Dinner For Two that includes 1 Appetizer, 2 Entrees, 1 Dessert, and 2 Cocktails, Glasses of Wine, or Beers.
Chef Dobkin's resume is beyond impressive: with a stint at Michelin-starred Gramercy Tavern, and earning a star for his work at Dressler, he is the third chef in Brooklyn to receive the distinction. After graduating with honors from the French Culinary Institute, it's no wonder his talents have earned him New York Times stars & another Michelin star for Meadowsweet.
Co-owner (and Chef Dobkin's wife) Stephanie is the brains behind the daily operations and the beverage program, sourcing ingredients from their upstate farm & in-house herb garden, as well as vintages from family, women, and Black-owned wineries. Savor craft cocktails like the flavor-packed Friend of the Devil (tequila, chile de arbol, agave, lemon & lime).
Swig as you savor starters like Smoked Salmon, Caviar & Crispy Potato, or Spanish Octopus & Chorizo, trailed closely by mains, namely the American Wagyu Bavette with chili crisp and Scottish Salmon alongside Brussels & caviar-preserved lemon beurre blanc. For dessert, you can't miss the Flourless Chocolate Cake (cocoa crunch, coconut anglaise & caramel ice cream).
The cozy atmosphere, the buzzing scene, and the feast itself will make your gourmand heart soar - this is gastronomy at its finest with an ultra-cool, Williamsburg twist…
Husband & wife team Polo and Stephanie Lempert opened Meadowsweet in 2014, sharing a love for great food & welcoming vibes in an epic location in Williamsburg. When they're not at the restaurant, Polo and Stephanie can be found upstate at Meadowsweet Farm, where they grow a variety of vegetables alongside Polo's father to serve at the restaurant.
After graduating with honors from the French Culinary Institute, Executive Chef Polo Dobkin honed his skills at Gramercy Tavern and the Dining Room, working under renowned chefs Tom Colicchio and Mark Spangenthal. In 2006, he became executive chef at Dressler, where he earned a Michelin star, making him the third chef in Brooklyn to receive the prestigious honor.
His refined American cuisine also earned a two-star review from The New York Times. A semi-finalist for the James Beard Award "Best Chef New York City" in 2008, 2010, and 2011, Dobkin has been featured in New York Magazine, GQ, and The New Yorker. Known as one of the pioneers of contemporary Brooklyn dining, he continued to build his reputation at Meadowsweet, where his food has earned a Michelin Star for many years.
Stephanie Lempert, Director of Operations & a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, immersed herself in the vibrant restaurant scene, gaining valuable experience at renowned establishments like DuMont, ‘INO Cafe & Wine Bar, and Al di La Wine Bar.
Stephanie oversees the wine program, which emphasizes family-owned wineries and promotes women and Black winemakers. Drawing from her design background, she created the restaurant's distinctive decor, including a wallpaper design inspired by 18th-century botanical engravings and photography that highlights the family’s upstate property.
Soak it all in, sipping those exceptional wines or craft cocktails like the Late Night Buzz (mezcal, espresso, chocolate, demerara) or the Golden Hour (rum, turmeric, pineapple, lemon, absinthe) while you slice into starters like the Cavatelli Nero & Scallop with pickle chile, preserved lemon & mollica, or the Tagliatelle & Chantarelles with truffle & parmesan.
Move on to the signature Spiced Duck Breast repping sweet potato, grilled escarole, mandarin orange, peanut-almond dukkah, sesame & mole, or the Roasted Chicken Roulade with fingerling potatoes, shiitake, braised Swiss chard, pickled onion & Jerusalem artichoke puree. Apple crumble sided by dulce de leche & vanilla ice cream for dessert? Yes, please!
