The brainchild of legendary restauranteur Paolo Secondo (Barolo, La Focaccia), I Tre Merli first opened in 1985 on West Broadway in SoHo. After spending the past 10 years in the West Village, the restaurant recently relocated to its current venue in the heart of the Meatpacking District.
I Tre Merli offers patrons alfresco dining via perfectly executed Italian menu that keeps things simple and satisfying. The enchanting setting of flowering branches red leather banquettes is ideal for both romance and social fizz, and the perfect spot to be until the wee hours.
For a spectacular New Year's Eve, start off with the Sauteed Fois Gras (with caramelized onions & pears) or the Burrata con Prosciutto di Parma (with roasted peppers).
Among entrees, you'll find showstoppers such as the Filet Mignon (with sautéed wild mushrooms, potatoes) and the Chilean Sea Bass (served with a rosemary sauce and Brussels sprouts). End it all on a sweet note with a housemade dessert such as the classic Tiramisu.
