Since its inception, Owners and husband & wife team Bob Giraldi & Patti Greaney, along with Executive Chef Luigi Celentano, have kept Gigino a Tribeca staple for 30+ years. They have captured the essence of Italian culinary artistry, serving up a spread that celebrates the rich culinary traditions of this beloved culture, simultaneously upholding the energy of the city it calls home.
With a focus on seasonal, fresh ingredients and traditional recipes, expect drool-worthy delights like Calamari Fritti (fried calamari, lightly spiced tomato sauce, lemon), followed by mains to the tune of succulent Bistecca Di Manzo (steak, roasted potato, spinach, herbed olive, or Salmone Alla Griglia (salmon, lentil, fresh tomato risotto, herbed extra virgin olive oil).

Helmed by Positano-alum Bob Giraldi (who worked for many years with the acclaimed Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten) & his wife Patti Greaney (the creator of the successful online chef and food author website, StarChefs), Gigino Trattoria came to life after a fateful trip to Italy in 1983, where Giraldi met talented kitchen maestro & now Executive Chef, Luigi Celentano.
The curated wine list will treat your taste buds to the most sensational vinos, best paired with starters like Prosciutto e Mozzarella (Italian prosciutto, fresh tomato, homemade mozzarella). Come time for mains, the homemade pasta shines in a plate of Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese repping a hearty Bologna style meat sauce.
For something wow-inducing, the Ossobuco D’Agnello is divine via lamb shank braised with a mixed vegetables, and beer & red wine sauce served over mint bean risotto. The seafood is equally fantastic, namely the Salmone All’Agrodolce, aka salmon sautéed with butter, capers, white wine, pearl onions & zucchini.
