Founder Jerry Atkins and his wife Linda took inspiration from their favorite spot in Paris, The Rhumerie, which is renowned for welcoming guests in a space that never goes out of style. Fats Duvall's Rhum Cafe in SoHo is of a similar breed, attracting clientele with its colorful & cozy scene akin to a home away from home.
The latest venture from Jerry and his business partner Steve Breskin (the duo also helm The Brooklyn Inn, The Magician, and Tile Bar), Fats offers homemade Latin-Caribbean fare concocted by Chef Wesly Jean Simon, not to mention an impressive cocktail program by drinks connoisseur Kiara Josette Pastor.
Be it a cocktail like the Forbidden Dance (Havana club rum, gin, Rockey’s botanical liqueur, suze, lemon, soursop, cantaloupe), or a glass of bold wine, let your palate go on an adventure, getting lost in a sea of flavors and aromas sure to intoxicate the senses.
Next up, dive into plates of Kreyol Shrimp & Grits (creamy cheddar grits, shrimp, peppers, onions, tomatoes), as well as the Cajun Fried Chicken Sandwich (chicken, lettuce, tomato, sambal ranch, brioche bun).
