With Chef Monique Cadavona's (Nobu Waikiki) spin on the menu and Linda Garcia, formerly of Clover Club, heading the bar, this jewel of color & flavor offers an environment similar to the vibe, character and excitement of bar and café life in the Caribbean as well as South and Central America.
Slip into cocktails like The Pink Flamingo with Wray & Nephew overproof rum, watermelon, grapefruit, guava, and lime. Or go full Caribbean style with your choice of French, Spanish or English Rum Flight - each one consisting of 4 pours of local rums to try!
Once the drinks are all sorted, devour into Pernil Sliders with pulled pork, salsa verde, sambal sour cream, crispy shallots, hawaiian sweet rolls.
Finish this transportive taste endeavour with some sweet Beignets dripping in a guava glaze or dulce de leche, and put yourself on island time...
Founder Jerry Atkins and his wife Linda took inspiration from their favorite spot in Paris, The Rhumerie, which is renowned for welcoming guests in a space that never goes out of style. Fats Duvall's Rhum Cafe in SoHo is of a similar breed, attracting clientele with its colorful & cozy scene akin to a home away from home.
The Café offers homemade Latin-Caribbean food specialties by Chef Monique Cadavona, and is the latest venture from Jerry and his business partner Steve Breskin, joining their successful bars, which include The Brooklyn Inn, The Magician, and Tile Bar.
From house made savory eats and desserts crafted from scratch, Fats only serves the finest, like Curry Wings with a curry dry rub and mango chutney, not to mention the Beef & Olive or Jerk Chicken Empanadas. We especially love the Banana Bread Pudding crowned in coconut sorbet & coconut rum sauce.
And after extensive historical cocktail research, drinks connoisseur Linda Garcia (Clover Club) has made sure that whether you’re in the mood for an old-fashioned, a martini or a bespoke cocktail, at Fats Duvall’s, all libations are exquisite.
