Behind an unsuspecting entrance on Murray Street, velvet-draped walls and candlelit corners conceal one of TriBeCa's most decadent secrets: Boss Tweeds. A sultry speakeasy soaked in lavish, seductive energy, it’s a sanctuary for those craving lush vibes, exquisite food, and conversation uninterrupted by distractions of the modern world or the ticking of time.
The story begins with Damien O’Brien, an Irish-born hospitality guru who crossed the Atlantic in 1996, molded by the legendary Rosie O’Grady’s empire. After early gigs in Union Square and running a sports bar on Wall Street, he set down roots with Biddy Early’s and Lily O’Brien’s. It was at Biddy’s where he met Marcella Toal, now his wife and partner. In 2018, he launched the celebrated Monk McGinn’s, and then in 2022, the idea for Boss Tweeds was born
This is a space for romance, elegance, and escape. Think tropical murals, magenta velvet wallpaper, glowing brass accents, and a hidden mezzanine lined with leather couches, acting as the perfect hideaway from the chaos outside. No screens. No noise. In the kitchen, Chef Mark Watchorn is a culinary maestro turning heads with his farm-to-table mastery from his days at Rams Head Inn. We ordered a few appetizers that were delicious and so fresh, this is the perfect spot to unwind after a long day at office or take that someone special - you won't want to leave! The staff are so welcoming and attentive, I can't wait to come back and try more cocktails and mark some food items of the list. We are excited to come back."
