Executive Chef Juan Suarez De Lezo (formerly at Eleven Madison Park and El Bulli) composes each plate as a work of art, infusing textures, flavors, and colors with a modern flair. TAVO founder Francisco Decrescenzo hails from Monterrey, Mexico, a stunning and worldly city at the foot of the Sierra Madre Oriental; it's beauty and culinary scene inform the spirit of TAVO, enriched by Executive Chef Juan Suarez De Lezo's own experience working at some of the world's best restaurants, including the 3 Michelin-starred Per Se.
The resulting menu is "richly seasoned with global notions" (The NY Times), adding inspired touches to comforting concepts. To start, try the delicious Ceviche of yellowtail and scallop, brightened with watermelon rounds, or the Lotus Root, thinly sliced and crisped wafers filled with red pepper chutney and yogurt.
For the entree, the Sirloin (quinoa, mojo, parmesan) is just transcendental, while the Cod (mint, summer corn, sugar snap peas) is impeccably seared and flavorful. Top it all off with a lavish housemade dessert; the Brownie, floating in cool white chocolate creme and topped with mango & berries, is nothing short of divine.
Like the food, the craft cocktails here taste as good as they look. You'll love the Red Dahlia, a frothy blend of gin, hibiscus and cava - it's pink, and perfect.
