One of the most fabled social events in NYC, The Jazz Age Lawn Party is a technicolor gathering of gorgeously costumed guests and world-class performers on the idyllic grounds of Governors Island.
As the legendary society photographer Bill Cunningham himself praised, "I can't think of a more delightful way to spend a weekend in the city"; his photographs of the event brought it to worldwide attention on The NYTimes, among other leading publications.
All day long, you'll be listening and dancing to the world's finest 1920s bands, headlined by Michael Arenella And His Dreamland Orchestra. The Dreamland Follies, a 10-lady dance ensemble, will invoke the glamour of the Ziegfeld's heyday, while the Carnasie Wobblers will scintillate with their scandalous Charleston numbers.
Other activities include dance lessons, vintage portrait sessions at the Paper Moon Booth, a bathing beauties promenade, 1920s motorcar exhibit, croquet, and so much more.
