Since Morningside Lights first set off through the park in 2012, their core mission has been to bring people together in a shared act of artistic expression. They invite you to come together in collectively building, displaying, and witnessing the illumination of the night with large one-of-a-kind handmade lanterns, bringing light and life back to public space.

The theme of the 11th Morningside Lights is centered around how we memorialize. The Reimagined Monument is a timely invitation to the community of makers to rethink the convention of public statuary, creating their own monuments to speak to the current moment, shared past, and hopes for the future.
