Join the Brooklyn Public Library for the kickoff of the Brooklyn Resists outdoor exhibition at the Center for Brooklyn History, featuring remarks by NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, BPL President & CEO Linda Johnson, and historian Dr. Brian Purnell. Since the 1600s, to value Black life, Brooklynites have put their bodies on the line. They have turned celebration into political demonstration. Using images and text to portray these themes, the Brooklyn Resists exhibition proves that while racism persists, Brooklynites resist.
