Through his work across fashion, portraiture, and documentary, Michael Avedon, grandson of the prolific Richard Avedon, has established himself in his own right as an important new voice in the world of photography. His 2018 cover story for New York Magazine, “72 Years of School Shootings”, was hailed as a significant and influential work of photojournalism. Avedon will be joined by New York Magazine’s Director of Photography Jody Quon to explore the artist’s journey and how concepts such as empathy, history, politics, and legacy inform his vision.
