Behind the pawty is Korean K9 Rescue, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has re-homed more than 3,700 dogs rescued from South Korea's dog meat trade, puppy mills & high-kill shelters since 2017. Right now, its Korean rescue center (home to 130+ dogs) is facing an SOS of its own, with urgent repairs needed to keep the shelter safe and operational. That's where you come in: every ticket sold directly funds those critical fixes, so you can quite literally party to help keep a roof over these pups' heads.
As for your afternoon in the villa? For thousands of dogs in South Korea, a second chance can begin thousands of miles from home. Korean K9 Rescue (KK9R) is a volunteer-driven, No-Kill organization working between Queens, New York and Bundang-gu, South Korea to rescue vulnerable dogs and connect them with loving families across New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, and beyond.
Since its founding, KK9R has rescued and rehomed more than 3,500 dogs, many saved from kill shelters, puppy mills, abandonment, and the dog meat trade. Mixed-breed dogs can also face significant barriers to adoption within South Korea, leaving countless animals with few options. Working alongside its partners on the ground, KK9R gives these dogs the care, rehabilitation, and fresh start they deserve.
At the heart of that work is KK9R's pioneering rescue and rehabilitation center in Bundang-gu, which can care for more than 150 dogs at a time. Here, dogs receive medical attention, behavioral training, socialization, and plenty of love before making the journey to their forever homes in the U.S. Proceeds from this special event will directly support that life-changing work.
And what better way to lend a paw than with a party? The newly-opened Spicy Moon LIC is hosting an afternoon of good food, great drinks, and four-legged fun. Guests can dig into Spicy Moon's drool-worthy eats, sip exquisite cocktails, snap photo booth pics, browse local vendors, enter raffles, and let their pups make a splash in doggy pools among other fun activations.
