Tucked away on a beautiful street in the East Village, Virginia's is the brainchild of restaurateur Reed Adelson (formerly at Robert De Niro & Andrew Camellini's Locanda Verde).
The decor evokes a Le Marais bistro with barrel-vaulted ceilings, French doors and vintage fine dining menus framed on the walls (collected by Adelson's father). Even the name pays homage to Adelson's mother, lending an air of charming authenticity to this cozy hotspot.
The food at Virginia's is as bespoke as the collection of vintage menus that line the walls of the restaurant. Dig into the Virginia's Burger topped with gooey cabot cheddar and served with vidalia onion marmalade for both sweet & savory on one plate.
Eater New York recently named the burger at Virginia's as one of the best in the city, and it's easy to see why. Fabricated from a blend of hanger steak and short rib, and larded with fat cap, it comes served under a molten mass of clothbound cheddar and it sits atop caramelized onions cooked in beef fat - all nestled in a buttery brioche from She Wolf bakery.
