The restaurant's founding team grew-up in Adana, Turkey, and moved to New York City in 1977, gradually learning the ins and outs of the restaurant business. Over their 43-year culinary journey, they have opened opened nearly 20 Turkish restaurants in New York City, including Turkish Kitchen, Sip Sak, and the latest venture, Lokanta, the latter earning two stars from The New York Times.

SipSak's story is one of dedication and innovation in Turkish cuisine. The restaurant was and remains a renowned culinary institution, celebrated for its mastery of traditional Turkish cuisine with a contemporary twist. As you soak in the familial feel and bask in the warm glow of a classic Manhattan-meets-Mediterranean scene, sip a few glasses of wine, handpicked from a curated list of fine vintages.

Next up, a starter of homemade dip like Babaganush (roasted eggplant, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic) is best savored while being scooped with warm bread, and followed by a plate of freshly-caught Grilled Whole Dorado, not to mention the meaty Lamb Shank, slow-cooked to perfection alongside potatoes & carrots.
