Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, Onegin is a Czarist fantasy complete with dripping crystal chandeliers, overstuffed half-moon chairs, and servers in black tie offering caviar and sparkling wine.
The restaurant pays homage to Alexander Pushkin - one of the giants of Russian literature and the creator of Eugene Onegin - in the oversized portrait on the ceiling and his handwritten notes reproduced on the tabletops.
In 19th century St. Petersburg where Onegin satiated his whims, restaurants, the opera and the theatre were the center of social life where all fashionable people gathered to indulge, see, and be seen.
This Cabaret night brings back the experience with a breathtaking 3 course feast for two, featuring 3 classic Russian dishes: the Red Caviar; the Beef Stroganoff in rich mushroom crème; and the Napoleon Cake - a blissful Bavarian cream layered between soft crepe and graced with fresh berries. (Vegetarian options available for all courses).
As you dine, you'll be treated to classic opera songs and stand-up comedy by David Serero, a Metropolitan Opera alum and "an incredible show-stopper with a powerful musical message" according to a rave review by The Independent.
