Details

South of the Clouds is one of the most up-and-coming hotspots in Greenwich Village - celebrated by The New York Times, New York Magazine, and Zagat, in addition to acclaim for its ability to "wonderfully execute" authentic Yunnan-style cuisine with New York City flair.

Grab your $29 pulse (a $64 value) for a Dinner For Two that includes 2 Entrees as well as 1 Bottle of Red, White, Rosé or Sparkling Wine, or Sake.

The master behind each incredible dish is Chef & Owner Lihen Geng, who hails from Brooklyn’s Yun Nan Flavour Garden. Delicately pulled noodles are crafted with care, using techniques passed down from Chef Lihen's father, and infused with rich, deep broths and tender, juicy meats for culinary perfection.

Go for the Signature Yunnan Crossing Bridge - and assemblage of chicken broth cooked for 4 hours, tender chicken, beef, pork, fish, bok choy, bean sprouts, tofu skin, scallions, and cilantro. The Stir Fried is equally gorgeous, dripping in homemade spicy sauce and stir fried with tomatoes and vegetables over stunning rice noodles.

With luscious libations ready to heighten every mouthful, your palate is in for an evening of pure epicurean delight...

The Infatuation, Time Out, and Thrillist can't get enough of the purely incredible creations that come out of the kitchen at South of the Clouds. Greenwich Village is treated to true authenticity via Yunnan-style fare that will light up your senses.

Such applause is well-earned, when considering that Chef & Owner Lihen Geng specializes in Mixian - a specific type of rice noodle derived from the Yunnan Province, and beloved around the world by aficionados who flock to the spot for the freshly-prepared bundles.

Your dining experience begins with a bottle of bubbles, wine, or sake, letting the wondrous flavors entice you as whiffs of your dishes begin to fill the room, exciting your appetite for more. Test your chopstick skills with a plate of the spot's famous noodles, whose buttery al dente texture is ideal for devouring.

Dive straight into bowls of Tomato Soup cooked with housemade chili sauce & topped with sliced beef and lemon, or go for the Three Cuts, a tomato meat sauce cooked with chili and cut vegetables over rice noodles. Mala Beef is also a favorite, adorned with spicy stewed beef, bok choy and mint leaves.

Once you've polished off the bottle and find yourself at the bottom of the bowl, settle in and find joy in the fantastic feeling of finishing a delicious meal.

All choices are made from the restaurant's Rice Noodle/Noodle menu.

Your $29 Dinner for Two (a $64 Value) Includes:

  • 2 Entrees (choice of Rice Noodle/Noodle; up to an $18 value each).
  • 1 Bottle of House Selected Red, White, Rosé or Sparkling Wine (up to a $28 value) or 1 Bottle of Sake (up to a $13 value).
