Adored by Gisele Bündchen, featured in Harper's Bazaar, awarded The Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand distinction, and applauded by The New York Times, Nonna Beppa in SoHo is a slice of Italia served with a purely authentic approach. Repping an incredibly talented, Italian-born & bred chef, expect flavors that are akin to stepping foot into a trattoria in the heart of the country's Emilia-Romagna region.
Grab your $89 pulse (a $162 value) for a 5 Star Yelp Rated 3 Course Dinner for Two that includes 1 Appetizer, 2 Entrees, 1 Dessert, and 2 Cocktails, Glasses of Red or White Wines, or Beers.
Unearth epicurean enlightenment at this hotspot equally celebrated by the discerning critics at Eater. Nonna Beppa reps Chef & Owner Giancarlo “Wendy” Cacciatori, a James Beard Foundation-recognized powerhouse who also helms Via Emilia 9. He named the spot after his grandmother, creating a nostalgic scene steeped in tradition while adding in upscale elements that will wow your senses.
The wine list is impressive, while cocktails are set to refresh with their craft quality, each sip heightening such a magnifico feast. Drink it all in as you swoon over Red Shrimp Carpaccio served with a light condiment of EVOO and lemon, followed by the famed Tortellini In Brodo, aka homemade tortellini stuffed with Prosciutto di Parma, Mortadella, pork loin and Parmigiano Reggiano served in chicken stock or Parmigiano cream.
For meatier mains, regulars can't get enough of the Trancio Di Salmone - think salmon steamed with aromas and natural spices, then grilled and seared with spinach and Parmigiano Reggiano. The Filetto Di Manzo Al Barolo is also divine, boasting premium prime filet mignon marinated in aromatic herbs, cooked with a Barolo reduction and smoked salt, served with roasted rosemary potatoes.
Whispers of rustic, far off trattorias, and a divine dessert to finish? This SoHo jewel is ready to shine...
SoHo's Nonna Beppa has not only earned its place as a neighborhood treasure - it's solidified its standing as a beacon of exquisite Italian cuisine, earning the applause of locals, epicureans, and The New York Times alike. It all comes down to Chef & Owner Giancarlo “Wendy” Cacciatori, who creates edible works of art that your taste buds will adore.
Cacciatori is a part of the "Brotherhood of Tortellini" (Dotta Confraternita del Tortellino), a Bologna-based organization dedicated to preserving the traditional recipe and culinary heritage of tortellini, a type of Italian pasta. In addition to the tortellini, every dish is crafted with the utmost attention to detail, a passion for authenticity, and an eye for culinary mastery that's unmatched.
With ingredients sourced locally and imported directly from the storied Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, expect succulent meats, fresh fish, handmade pastas magically crafted fresh in-house daily, each style delicately shaped by head pasta maker & master Sfoglinas, Martha Salamanca.
Take a seat outside amidst lush greenery and fresh air, or bask in cozy contemporary feels inside, each inch beckoning tired New Yorkers to enter with big appetites. Exposed brick and white table cloths give a balance of elegance, and a stocked wine cellar highlight the space's inherent European undertones. The family-owned & operated aspect adds even more warmth, thanks to Chef Cacciatori and his wife, Valentina.
As you settle in and the wanderlust begins to make you feel like booking a flight to Parma, sip on a classic Aperol Spritz, a potent Negroni, or a few glasses of Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese, all while you slice into the freshest, creamiest, dreamiest Burrata, or relish the Prosciutto With Gnocco Fritto, aka their signature homemade puffy bread.
Next up, savor mains like Cotoletta alla Bolognese (breaded chicken with prosciutto & parmigiano fondue), as well as a juicy Filetto di Branzino, aka a stunning Mediterranean Branzino fillet, sided by roasted potato and crowned with a citrus dressing. As the mains and the final sips of your libations disappear, Tiramisu arrives to seal the deal on the perfect night.
Nonna Beppa tonight? It's a no-brainer...
