Originally from Iran and having journeyed through Istanbul in 2016 to NYC, Chef & Owner Nasrin Rejali honed her culinary skills while working at Eat Offbeat, a catering company that supports refugees. In 2020, she launched Nasrin’s Kitchen Catering, expanding her culinary footprint by opening the now famed brick-and-mortar near Bergdorf Goodman and Tiffany & Co.
Here, she proudly features her authentic Persian cuisine for New Yorkers to savor, so sip on a glass of red wine while you tuck into the Homemade Bread, Nasrin’s signature creation, made fresh daily with sesame seeds, nigella seeds, and love.
Follow that with some Gheymeh Nesar, aka lamb with sour orange peel, barberries, saffron, tomato paste, and seasoned with spices, served with rice and adorned with Persian pistachios, almonds, and onions. Lest we forget, desserts like Persian Baklava add a sweet finish via almond-filled flakey pastry, honey syrup, pistachio, and rose.
A delight from the first bite to the last, fall in love with the brilliance of Nasrin’s...
Acclaimed by the likes of Forbes, The New York Times, Vogue, and The New Yorker, Iranian-born Nasrin Rejali garnered a loyal following through her traditional Persian cuisine at various catering and pop-up venues across the city before establishing her eponymous restaurant, Nasrin's Kitchen, near Fifth Avenue.
Boasting high ceilings, and an air of family feels, Nasrin's exudes an ambiance of convivial elegance. Cozy up to this charmer characterized by white tablecloths and walls splashed with white marble, all evoking a sense of faded grandeur that still retains its magnificence.
As you cuddle up within the Gilded Age mansion on 57th Street, prepare your palate for a richly flavored feast, showcasing the depth and complexity of Middle Eastern cuisine. Chef Rejali (whose son also can be seen handling the business side of things) will work her magic, combining locally-sourced fresh ingredients with imported spices & traditional recipes to create edible masterpieces.
Devour recipes from Chef Rejali's youth alongside bubbly beers and luscious wines. We're talking starters like Mirza Ghasemi, aka Caspian grilled eggplant dip with sweet onion, garlic, tomato, and spices, served with a fried egg and homemade bread.
Mains also shine, like Zereshk Polo Ba Morgh (chicken braised in tomato-saffron sauce, basmati rice, barberries, almonds, pistachios, saffron oil, spices) and Chelo Khoresh-e Ghormeh Sabzi, a hearty stew with fresh herbs, tender beef, fenugreek, saffron, sun-dried limes, and kidney beans.
For dessert, Sholezard shines with its ensemble of rice pudding flavored with saffron, rose water, almonds, pistachios, and spices such as cinnamon and cardamom. Trust us - this one is a real winner...
All selections will be made from the restaurant's full dinner menu.
