You and your guest will receive 1 Starter, 1 Peel & Eat Shrimp Boil, 1 Basket, 1 Plaintain Chips & Pineapple Salsa - plus 2 beers or glasses of rosé to held take the edge off of your day; just like life in the Caribbean.
Enjoy your freshly cooked seafood indoors or on the postcard-pretty, beach chic patio, along with a myriad of homemade sauces that your friendly host will generously offer. Take your time trying them all - it'll make you feel as if you are on vacation in paradise!
On many a Caribbean island, the "lolo" is a small restaurant that serves up the local cuisine, a most authentic beach eatery that only the locals know. At LoLo’s Seafood Shack, Chef/Owner Raymond Mohan brings the concept to NYC, in a cozy dining room, washed turquoise and unfinished wood set the holiday tone, brightened with pops of flamingo and potted palms.
The thing to do, of course, is to act like "locals;" place your order, then chat with Chef Mohan who helms the kitchen; then stroll over to the backyard garden, a hidden paradise painted in serene Caribbean blue and decked with picnic tables. It's an ideal scene to enjoy a cold beer while waiting for your meal.
This charming ambiance, coupled with exceptional food, has catapulted Lolo's to overnight fame. Among starters, the Belizean Conch Fritters are made with rice flour, for that airy crispiness; Crabby Dip & Plaintain chips are impressive for the amount of juicy crab meat, balancing out the richness of the dip and crunchy chips.
The baskets feature fresh fish (like mahi mahi, smelt, salmon) or jerk chicken, all cooked to perfection; one could also argue that the restaurant's iconic garlic fries - unbelievably crispy and perfectly garlicky - are just as much of a star as the entrees the accompany.
With non-stop coverage by the media since it opened in Fall 2014 (The NY Times, ABC, CBS, Fodor's, Refinery 29, Zagat, just to name a few), it's a matter of time before "non-locals" discover Lolo's - but it's okay, because in the true spirit of the Caribbean, everyone is genuinely welcome here - all year around...
All selections are made from the restaurant's full dinner menu.

"Everything I tried here was delicious. In addition to the amazing food, the staff was very nice and the decor makes you feel like you're on vacation. This place is a ray of sunshine."
"The food. Oh my GAHHH. We ordered the shrimp, salmon and broccoli basket, plantains, conch fritters and garlic fries and enjoyed every last bite. The shrimp and salmon were fresh and the sauce they sat in was tasty enough for me to ask for a spoon."
"WOW. Seriously, guys, go to this place and go hungry. I was sad when we finished the conch fritters and chicken wings--they are a must! The shark bake is the bomb, but the crab cake sandwich is my new favorite! Their hospitality always puts them on the top of the list, too. So happy to have found this place!"
