For nearly 20 years, Komera has walked alongside young women, youth, and families in the Kayonza district of Rwanda - supporting them through education, community development, and health & wellness programs. Since launching in 2009, Komera has helped thousands take bold steps toward brighter futures.
What began as a scholarship program for girls with the courage to pursue secondary school has grown into a movement - one that champions opportunity, leadership, and connection. This year’s theme, Walk Her Journey, is a call to action. Because every journey begins with a single step - and every donation helps a girl take hers.

In the gorgeous Alphabet Bar & Café at Moxy East Village, the energy kicks into high gear as the DJ spins the hits, taking a break for a live auction with a prize tipplers will adore (hello, wagon full of liquor!) and the silent auction where you'll aim for wins like a trip for two to Rwanda & a weekend stay on Lake Tahoe.
