When Greek meets Greek, they might open a restaurant - but it is rarely as vibrant and successful as Kellari Taverna, the brainchild of Restauranteur Stavros Aktipis' (Striphouse, 'Cesca, Martinique Cafe) and Founding Chef Gregory Zapantis (Estiatorio Milos) who opened the venue back in 2005.
More recently, under the guidance of new Executive Chef Themis Papadopoulos, Kellari has upgraded its menus across the board, recently launching a stand-out brunch that comes with 2 hours of endless freshly squeezed mimosas.
The brunch entrees pay testimony to Chef Papadopoulos education at Ecole Lenôtre and as a visiting chef at the Michelin-starred The Kitchen Gallery in Paris and the 2 Michelin starred Greenhouse in London.
What's not to love about the Blueberry Pancakes that come smothered in fresh fruit and topped off with A-grade Crown Maple syrup & organic butter. On the savory side, you'll be hard pressed to find a better dish than the Froutalia (frittata with Loukaniko Greek sausage, potato, onions, peppers & Kasseri).
