The lush romance of a bottle of red or the summery crisp bliss of a white vintage will pair perfectly with the sumptuous nosh on the menu. Think The Burrata Pizza topped with fresh basil, arugula, sea salt, and olive oil pesto, not to mention the Brisket Sandwich, a meaty marvel stacked with honey mustard, pickles, and red onion on focaccia.

A new addition just a couple blocks from the buzz of Bryant Park, J. Kennedy’s somehow already feels like one of those classic New York places everyone swears they “found first.” It’s still new, but the city’s fully leaning in, as it's often brimming with in-the-know locals, after-work wine lovers, downtown creatives, and those settling in for what was meant to be “just one drink.” It has that rare neighborhood energy where everything feels effortless.
J. Kennedy is the work of 25 year hospitality veterans, and brothers, Vinny & Johnny Kennedy (The Westbury & The Long Hall) with help from their longtime friend Cathal Clark. The trio decided to name the venue after Johnny's son, Jack Kennedy, and opened the restaurant in early 2026.
The food is nothing short of craveable. Comfort food turned all the way up, built around huge flavors, fresh ingredients, and pure indulgence. The custom wood-fired oven is constantly throwing out bubbling, blistered pizzas that smell sublime the second they hit the table. Sandwiches are stacked with succulent meats, crisp veggies, dripping sauces, and the sort of richness you’ll genuinely think about the next day.
Then there are the shared plates: salty, cheesy, spicy, crunchy, or all of the above, each is designed to disappear instantly with another glass of wine. Speaking of wine, the list is handpicked, and seriously good without being intimidating, treating you to the kind of bottles that somehow make every bite taste even better.
The vibe lands somewhere between old-school Manhattan and low-key Dublin charm. Accordion windows swing open and suddenly the whole place melts into the summer energy of the city outside. Inside, there’s exposed brick, rich dark wood, tin ceilings, vintage pendants, and a crowd that feels impossibly New York in the best way. It feels decadent, alive, and exactly like the kind of spot that’ll become a staple before the rest of the city catches up.
