Experience seasonally-inspired cuisine at its best with this $59 pulse (a $119 value) for a 3 course dinner for two. You and a friend will enjoy 1 Appetizer or Salad, 2 Main Courses, 1 Dessert, and 1 Bottle of Wine.
Trained in the fine dining tradition at Dovetail and at 5-starred Park Hyatt New York, Chef Dancel turns out exquisite creations with produce delivered daily from Barber's Farm in upstate NY.
From the Beef Ribeye Steak (braised leek, whole roasted carrots) to the Grilled Whole Branzino (artichoke barigoule, olives, capers, sweet peppers), the entrees at French Epi perfectly blend French techniques with the freshest local and seasonal ingredients.
Meanwhile, the wood-paneled walls, soft velvet banquettes and white table cloths create an equally impressive ambiance fit for the most special of evenings...
Nestled on the beautiful Greenpoint Avenue, French Epi is a sophisticated, cozy bistro founded by restaurateurs Beata and Tomasz Elder.
Executive Chef Brian Dancel begins each day sourcing ingredients at New York's best food markets; then spends the afternoon preparing each dish from scratch to offer guests a most artisanal experience.
Start your night with the Grilled Octopus dressed with micro herbs, fresh pistou and sautéed chickpeas. Another irresistible pick is the Warm Crab Choux, fried to golden perfection and filled with pate a choux with sweet pepper coulis.
Next up is a range of exquisite bistro favorites, like the Roasted Duck Breast glazed with carrot log and orange segments. Meat lovers will also find the Short Rib Pastrami (cabbage & apple slaw, pickled baby vegetables, whole grain mustard) simply magnifique.
Do leave room for decadent housemade desserts, such as the Chocolate Lava Cake (chocolate ganache, whipped cream, seasonal berries). Now that's what joie de vivre tastes like...
