Through the tasting of six wines from the Alpine foothills, including reds, whites, and a rosé, esteemed wine educator and author Wink Lorch (WSET Diploma with Honours, Master of Wine Qualification) will explain the stories behind these unique local grape varieties and why they make for a splendid final product come time to wow your taste buds.

A part of FIAF's spring wine tasting series From Vine to Vin, The Wines of Savoie Tasting Soirée turns the spotlight on the Savoie region, nestled in the picturesque French Alps. Storied as a ski chalet staple, the modernization of winemaking techniques have unearthed the unique flavor profiles and food-friendly nature of Savoie wines.
Located in a stunning brownstone by The Plaza, FIAF is a leading French language and cultural center that brings a piece of France to NYC via cultural events including live performances, film screenings, panel discussions, wine tastings, and gallery exhibitions, inviting you to engage with the best of this rich heritage!
You'll find yourself in Le Skyroom, located on the top floor of FIAF’s Beaux Arts style building. Le Skyroom features soaring floor-to-ceiling windows and multi-hued blue walls that will serve as the perfect space within which to indulge!
You'll be offered 6 wines from the Alpine foothills, including reds, whites, and a rosé. The wines of Savoie are multifaceted, and are paired with exquisite cheeses and freshly-baked artisan breads. All the while, acclaimed Wine Educator and Author Wink Lorch will walk you through the region that she calls home, serving an in-depth deep-dive.
