Chef Omar Walter is the brains behind the magic here. Inspired by his Jamaican roots and Caribbean travels, this comes as a second iteration of Omar's Kitchen and Rum Bar in NYC's Lower East Side. His initial interest in Jamaica’s native fruits and vegetables led to an all-out exploration of a culture that blends a Caribbean twang with playful French culinary infusions, adding in a New York twist for the ultimate blend of cultures & flavors.
Featuring designs by Walters’ sister Chelsea & hand-painted murals by NYC artist Anthony Scotto, the interiors create a colorful aesthetic that pays homage to Jamaica, while the crisp white tablecloths and air of refinement nod to French bistros. All the while, you'll let tipples like craft cocktails, luscious wines, and bubbly beers add a splash of whimsy to the evening.
Sink your teeth straight into the signature, New York Times-applauded Croquettes Aux Conques with imported conch & lobster bisque sauce to start, moving on to pan seared Branzino with a lemon, caper, and white wine sauce.
