Bricolage, meaning “something constructed from a diverse range of available things,” mirrors its etymological definition with a diverse background and use of influences from Chinese, French, and New American cuisines, all the while upholding core Vietnamese culinary traditions and techniques.

The self-proclaimed gastropub has garnered tons of worthy praise from press and patrons throughout NYC. Hailing from Slanted Door - aka one of the most acclaimed restaurants in San Francisco - Chefs Lien and Edward Lin are a husband-and-wife team whose energy carries into the spot’s bustling atmosphere and meticulously-crafted dishes.

Blistered Shishito Peppers and Sriracha Butter Chicken Wings are just a sampling of starters you will fight over at the table, but the true showstoppers are the large plates. Crispy Whole Porgy calls on Thai chili and lemongrass fish sauce to take you on an epicurean thrill ride, while the Vietnamese Bouillabaisse incorporates elements from the sea and fragrant spices that will give your appetite the burst of flavor it deserves.

The restaurant’s design is worth noting, constructed from re-used and re-purposed items like a wall fashioned from an old Brooklyn water tower, all curated by partner and restaurant designer, Miro Gal.

Adam Wilson, whose impressive resume includes an award-winning cocktail program and the title of Master Barman, designed the cocktail menu’s seasonal stars and house classics that bring their A-game year-round.

In a nutshell, quality fare, hand-crafted drinks, an unpretentious setting, and genuine and attentive service will make a trip to Bricolage one of your most cherished dining experiences...

  • “Probably one of the greatest Vietnamese places ever! Everything we had was amazing and exceeded expectations. Cute atmosphere with what looked to be adorable outdoor patio seating (weather permitting).”

  • "Food: imperial rolls and shishito peppers fine. Pork ribs excellent. Beef chips the best thing ever....Service/staff: A+.... Cocktails: after visiting a number of excellent super hyped NYC cocktail bars, this place managed to outshine them all. Drinks on the menu are great, but bartender's choice even better."

  • “The decor inside is lovely, but the backyard is really the showstopper, with all of its lush plants and cool retro TVs and radios, and the enchanting lights...it makes it worth the trip alone. But, of course, the main attraction is the food!”
