Chef Julian Medina has spent the past two decades creating Latin dishes for some of New York City's top restaurants, and has perfected his craft as Owner/Executive Chef of his Toloache empire, which now consists of three Manhattan locations.
The Toloache restaurants are named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions; Chef Medina's creative dishes are fittingly mesmerizing, with seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies.
Start your meal with one of the three house guacamoles, including a surprising signature interpretation that combines mango, pomegranate and basil.
For tacos, the Spicy Lobster is a showstopper loaded with morita salsa, tender lobster and avocado. You also can't go wrong with the mouthwatering Costilla & Tuetano (beef short ribs, bone marrow, thai basil, roasted red onion).
