The latest brainchild of Salil Mehta, the wunderkind chef behind the Michelin-starred Laut, The Chinese Club has been winning critical acclaim and legions of fans since opening in 2016.

Experience Chef Mehta's brilliant menu with this $49 pulse (a $93 value) for a dinner for two. You and a friend will share 1 Starter/Dim Sum/Dumplings, 1 Noodle/Noodle Soup or Fried Rice, 2 Entrees (Meat, Seafood, Chicken, Vegetarian), 1 Dessert, and 1 Bottle of Wine or Sake.

Inspired by the diaspora cuisine of Chinese immigrants in the Darjeeling region of India, the menu at The Chinese Club ranges from the familiar General Tso's Chicken (updated with beer batter) to the unusual Honey Walnut Shrimp (with a special mayo sauce).

No matter what you go for, the dishes here focus on discovery, creativity, and pleasure; as The NY Times praises, they are "crowd-pleasers...crunchy and creamy, earthy and sweet - ridiculous and delicious."

The sign outside The Chinese Club's eclectic-chic storefront reads "Est. 1914." This was the year when Lo Fung Shu opened the original social club in Darjeeling, offering an ingenious menu of Indian-Chinese cuisine to the local immigrant community.

A century later, his great-granddaughter Stacey Lo and her husband Salil Mehta have recreated the club on the uber-trendy Driggs Avenue in Williamsburg, introducing New Yorkers to mesmerizing hybrid dishes that "all get touched with high-end ingredients and refined technique" (Village Voice).

The Black Pepper Steak updates the Chinese classic with a touch of butter, while the Soft Shell Crab is fried to crispy perfection and dressed with a choice of sauces, like the sweet & spicy Calcutta.

Leave room for sensational desserts, such as the Coconut Ice Cream served over Chinese waffle and sprinkled with fried noodles, cereal, lychee - and speared with Pocky sticks. Not only is it eminently photogenic, it is also legitimately addictive.

All selections will be made from the restaurant's full dinner menu.

Your $49 Dinner For Two (a $93 Value) Includes:

The Chinese Club scores a splendid 4 stars out of 65+ reviews on Yelp, including:

  • "I love this place!! Get their spicy general tso's lo mein - good stuff. Also, their wonton soup is a stunner! I've eaten chinese food all over the world and I must say The Chinese Club is pretty solid!!!!"

  • "We've been here so many times and the service and food are always excellent. My favorites are the Calcutta Chili Garlic noodles and the Chili Pepper Calamari but everything we've ordered has been great."

  • "This place is amazing and an absolute gem. The drunken noodles and tandoori kung pap are both great, but the recently added Hong Kong Soy Sauce Chicken Rice is out of this world."
