On the Tex-Mex-inspired brunch menu, the Steak & Huevos (8 oz grilled steak, organic eggs, guac, pico de gallo) is outstanding. Also try the maximalist Texas French Toast - cinnamon brioche dipped in custard and topped with maple pecans, berry salsa, maple syrup and tequila-infused whipped cream.
With it's bold, extravagant, and crowd-pleasing dishes, airy dining room decked out in twinkle lights and barn-wood wainscoting; El Original exudes Texas-sized charm, ambiance and of course, taste!
Located on the ground floor of the landmark Skyline Hotel, El Original TX MX is a gorgeous, welcoming restaurant that serves rollicking Tex-Mex cuisine and sub-regional favorites by Executive Chef Miguel Franco (of Dos Toros fame).
The sprawling space is divided into a stunning bar area and 2 full dining rooms, decorated with distressed wood, bright red leather banquettes, and Americana motifs. A beautiful patio and a vintage arcade games area further draw crowds from morning until late night.
For brunch, the scrumptious Texan Eggs Benedict is a must-try (2 organic poached eggs on jalapeno corn muffins, carnitas, chipotle hollandaise). The Tex-Mex favorite Breakfast Tacos can be made with puffy (deep-fried) tortillas, and topped with cheddar, jack, bacon, eggs, and chorizo as you like.
Wash down the generous entrees with endless fresh-squeezed mimosas, for a perfect start to a relaxing Sunday.
