Big name chefs Seungjoon Choi (Hortus), Allan Walker-Harden (The Grey Dog), Kimberly Plafke (Grand Army Bar), Garrison Price (Café Clover) and Christina Bartoli (Gelso and Grand) will vie for your vote, the winner being crowned the “Prince or Princess of Pork.”
You'll pair a succession of pork variations with unlimited rounds of libations including impressive cocktails, crisp beers, fine wines and spirits tastings, plus the opportunity to watch as 50 sommeliers also compete to make the best wine/pork pairing in the aptly titled Somm Smackdown. Since 2008, Cochon555 has toured around the USA and Canada sharing their love of cuisine and showcasing the exquisite taste these amazing pigs provide to eager gourmands.
Now, it's your turn to spend a Sunday afternoon feasting on 1,500 pounds of heritage breed pork at this 3 hour experience that has been praised by the likes of Eater and The Wall Street Journal.
Under the expansive and stunning engraved dome ceilings within The Weylin, renowned cooks, chefs, sommeliers and mixologists can be found working in unison to create luxurious and inspirational food and drink-driven moments.
Every part of the pig is turned into remarkable works of edible art for all 500 guests to devour, alongside a signature cheese bar, a tartare bar with Antica Napa Valley Wines Wines, as well as desserts by Perfect Puree Swine & Sweets. Rest assured, you will not go home hungry!
The nose-to-tail event supports family farmers who raise heritage breed hogs on open-pasture farms without the use of antibiotics or steroids. The high-quality meats they produce are recognized for their superior rich and hearty flavors, textures, appearances, nutritious qualities, distinct marbling, and creamy fat.
A never ending flow of drinks from Antica Napa Valley Wines, El Tesoro Tequila, Chateau d'Esclans, cocktails featuring Wheatley Vodka & Perfect Puree of Napa Valley, among others, will be on deck to heighten and balance each bite.
Between the live carving demonstrations, exciting competitions, the ability to meet the chefs, butchers, drink makers, vendors, and hundreds of like-minded bon vivants, expect wonderment at this meaty oasis...
