Tired of all the Shakespeare? Well, William isn’t the only bygone playwright being performed for free this summer in NYC. The American Thymele Theatre presents a production of Euripides’s Cyclops - the story of Odysseus’s encounter with the Cyclops, an episode from Homer’s The Odyssey. On their way back from the Trojan War, hero Odysseus must confront the one-eyed monster Polyphemus, tricking him in order to escape and sail away home. The production is free at the East River Park’s Amphitheater. Enjoy this classic as the sun sets on the Manhattan.
