One of the largest wholesale seafood markets in the world, the Tin Building served as the backdrop to this melting pot of commerce and culture, supporting undocumented immigrants and entire families for generations. Built in 1907, the building survived blazes and storms, and outlived mayors and presidents, before its closure in 2005. Today, after more than eight years of meticulous restoration, the Tin Building begins a new chapter as New York’s culinary epicenter.
