Casa Mezcal
86 Orchard St | (929) 822-4544
Founded in 2009, Casa Mezcal stands proud as the first Mezcaleria not only in NYC but in the entire USA. Ignacio Carballido, Restauranteur and Mezcalier, along with the renowned Mexican painter Guillermo Olguín, envisioned a place that seamlessly blends art, music, traditional and modern Mexican cuisine, and an extensive variety of mezcal and agave spirits under one roof. In 2021, Casa Mezcal embraced new trends and welcomed Chef/Restauranteur Florian Hugo and Mexican mixologist and designer Jacqueline Piccini as part of their family. Their mission is to rejuvenate Casa Mezcal with updated cooking techniques and innovative mixology while preserving the authenticity of Mexican culture that the establishment proudly promotes. The Casa Mezcal philosophy has always been to celebrate the authentic, the crafty, the artsy, and the artisanal. This philosophy shines through with their extensive selection of mezcal from small producers, their creative cocktail list crafted with house-made bitters, vermouth, syrups, and other spirit infusions, the captivating artwork displayed, the unique concepts throughout the three floors, and the thoughtfully prepared and sourced dishes by Chef Arturo Jimenez. Even after more than a decade since its inception, Casa Mezcal continues to be a beacon in the Lower East Side, drawing in locals and visitors alike with its vibrant atmosphere and cultural offerings. The journey doesn't stop here, as Casa Mezcal constantly reinvents itself, adding new elements such as live music, comedy nights, art gallery shows, club nights, and much more to come. Join us at Casa Mezcal and immerse yourself in an unforgettable experience where tradition meets innovation, all while celebrating the rich tapestry of Mexican culture.
