According to a NY Times Blog article, The Jane Ballroom may soon be set to reopen. They've got their permit, they've got plans to placate the neighbors and they will still have the $20 drinks (OK, we threw in tax and tip).... Finally, some competition for the Boom Boom Room again...

That first opening, however, will be private, a situation that may continue indefinitely in the Jane’s efforts to avoid conflicts with the neighbors. “We’re going to feel our way through this,” the owner said, “but we think that we can open it as private and run it at a reasonable capacity without opening to the public, and keep things very controlled that way.”
