Every August all over Japan, during the Obon summer holiday, people dance Bon Odori at festivals. This NYC event is notable for bringing dances from Japan's Big Three Bon Odori regions into one venue, including Nishimonai Bon Odori from Akita prefecture, Gujo Odori from Gifu prefecture, and Awa Odori from Tokushima prefecture. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn and participate in Bon Odori dance sessions and experience Japanese summer festival food and games, right here in New York City.
