Celebrate Caribbean American Heritage Month at Cortelyou Library on June 4 as the Brooklyn Museum’s Museum on Wheels rolls in for a vibrant Carnival-themed block party packed with family-friendly fun. Guests of all ages can enjoy colorful Carnival performances, live music, stilt walkers, art-making activities including DIY masks and headdresses, wellness workshops, games, bubble demonstrations, and free treats from Island Pops. Visitors can also take part in JR’s globally acclaimed Inside Out Project, an interactive portrait experience marking the initiative’s 15th anniversary, and contribute to a public artwork that will be displayed at the library. Additional highlights include a Carnival pop-up library, touch tours, and artist talks connected to Christopher Myers’ new mosaic at the Church Avenue subway station.
