This tradition began in 1945 as a tribute to the loved ones lost in World War II. The Knickerbocker Grey Cadets, members of the nations oldest afterschool program and part of New York’s living history, present the Colors at the Park Avenue tree lighting ceremony every year to honor all who have died in our nation’s wars.
