Badaweyah and 67 Orange Street present "ShimmyDonna" a night of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Music and Dance... "ShimmyDonna" pays homage to the History of Harlem and the evolution of African dance in America... Mae West frequented parties with Cole Porter, Langston Hughes and Libby Taylor here. Mae learned about the "Shimmy" by attending famous spots and underground Jook Joints in Harlem and started doing the Shimmy in a lot of her acts and coined the name Shimadonna.
"ShimmyDonna" is introducing fabulous dancers Kaitlin, Najla, Almaz and hostess...Badaweyah. 67 Orange Street is the only lounge Uptown bringing you music from the East to the West...Balkan Fusion, Turkish Roman, Lebanese TripHop, Beladi and Shaabi. There will be special Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influenced cocktails and food pairings for this event.
