Owner Karl Franz Williams brings the vibrant spirit and underground mystique of 19th century Five Points to 21st century Harlem. As the best bar above 59th Street, 67 Orange Street continues the legacy of speakeasy style cocktails and adds the allure of jazz on Sundays. The seedy streets of Five Points loomed with dodgy gangsters and dangerous liaisons, but at 67 Orange Street you can enjoy yourself without worries of raids by the police or bullets from the mob. Enjoy jazz every Sunday starting at 4pm, and a live performance by Gavin Harper at 7pm.

67 Orange Street is named for the last known location of Almack’s, one of the first black-owned speakeasies of the Prohibition era. A vivacious nightlife scene thrived within Almack’s clandestine walls: couples drowned in the syncopated tunes of a newly emerging jazz-infused rhythm; city hall politicians sealed deals with dark-suited businessmen over moonshine whiskey; bright-eyed sailors fixated on the swaying hips and flirtatious gazes of seductively silhouetted women.
