The Korean fried chicken chain Kyochon, which has more than 1,000 restaurants, including two in Queens, opened its American flagship on today in a sleek two-story red and white space that cost $2 million. It is located at 319 5th Avenue in midtown. Initial results were that New Yorkers loved the Korean Fried Chicken
It’s not exactly fast food, since you have to count on at least 20 minutes for the food, cooked to order, to appear.
The ground floor is for the signature double-fried chicken wings (three flavors) and other dishes, including a new chicken sandwich on flatbread baked on the premises. There is a full-service restaurant and bar up the curving glass staircase. The same menu is offered, but it becomes pricier in the evening.
